The dell inspiron 8200 laptop was one of the first notebooks to use the Mobile Intel Pentium 4 Processor-M (MP4-M), the first Pentium 4 processor entirely dedicated to laptop computers. According to Intel, the Pentium 4 architecture (0,13 micron technology, 400 MHz frontal bus, 512 Ko of cache memory level 2, DDR SDRAM compatibility and SSE2 instructions) combines with energy saving technologies to create high performances and an improved autonomy.
The hard drive is a 40 Go Hitachi at 4200 rpm, it has a Sony DVD/CD-RW player, and a GeForce4 440 Go GPU from nVidia, which was at the time the fastest mobile GPU. The screen is a 15 inch TFT of good quality with a resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels (UXGA).
